NOW HIRING!

I've had the privilege of tutoring over 5,000 online sessions with GREAT success! I work with children from around the globe, including China, India, Wisconsin, and California. My specialty is teaching children to read in English—many of whom are just 3 or 4 years old. I primarily work with students who do not thrive in traditional classrooms, including children with ADHD who prefer to move around, children with Autism who need a comfortable and supportive environment, and children who LEARN DIFFERENTLY.
But what sets me apart is that I'm different too!
As someone with ADHD, I understand firsthand the challenges and strengths that come with learning differently. That's why I created these programs—to celebrate our uniqueness as our superpower. The "Z" in my name is a symbol of this philosophy, reminding our students that being different is not just okay, it's extraordinary.
Our reading, writing, and math programs are EFFECTIVE for ALL students and ESSENTIAL for some.
Here’s how our programs work:
Diagnostic Assessment: I begin by conducting a thorough diagnostic assessment to identify each student's strengths and areas for improvement. Students are often grouped by ability, not by age or grade level, which allows us to tailor the learning experience to each child's needs.
Individualized Curriculum: I then develop a personalized curriculum based on scientifically proven research and each child's unique learning style. I’m so confident that our students will enjoy and benefit from virtual tutoring that we offer a 100% happiness guarantee. If for any reason parents are not satisfied, they receive a full refund—no questions asked.
Embracing Technology for a Better Learning Experience
Technology has transformed the way we live and learn. Today's children have access to opportunities that didn’t exist 20 years ago. Online tutoring and virtual classrooms offer a safer, more convenient, and highly effective way for children to receive a quality education. We use Zoom for video conferencing and Google Classroom to support our learning sessions.

I’m looking for passionate, energetic, and dedicated teachers who are excited about making a difference in the lives of students. If you’re eager to inspire and engage, I’d love for you to apply.

8 Reasons why Online Tutoring works at ANY age

1. The Critical Period for Growth and Development: Ages 3 to 9
The peak of growth and development for children occurs between the ages of 3 and 9. During this period, children’s imaginations are rich, and they love engaging in physical play. As they approach the age of 9, they become more independent and confident in exploring new things. This stage is ideal for mastering new skills.
2. Children between 3 and 9 have an exceptional capacity for learning language, phonics, and reading comprehension. It's easier to correct reading, writing, and speaking habits at an earlier age before they become ingrained.
3. The Power of One-on-One Interactions
One-on-one interactions allow for personalized instruction tailored to each child’s unique learning style. Every child learns differently, and they should never be penalized for that. Instead, teaching should be adapted to suit their learning preferences.
4. Adjustable for different learning styles.
Here are the most common learner types:
Visual: Learns best through pictures, presentations, and graphics. I use visual aids and encourage drawing to help convey information.
Verbal: Prefers reading and writing tasks. I prepare reading activities, writing exercises, and short quizzes for these learners.
Kinesthetic: Enjoys learning through movement and physical activities. For example, incorporating exercises like those developed by Oxford University can enhance learning by increasing blood flow to the brain and fostering new neural connections.
Auditory: Learns through listening. I read aloud, use audiobooks, play pronunciation games, and sing songs, encouraging discussions about what they’ve heard.
It’s important to remember that these categories are not rigid; many children benefit from a multifaceted approach that incorporates elements from all learning styles.
Adapting Teaching Styles to Fit the Student
In addition to understanding learner types, it’s essential to adapt teaching styles to suit the student’s needs. Teaching styles generally fall into three categories:
Teacher-Focused Style: Commonly used in lectures but less suitable for younger children who require more interaction.
Learner-Focused Style: Gives learners more freedom, with the teacher acting as a coach. This style encourages active participation and exploration.
Content-Focused Style: Ideal for introducing new concepts, as it centers around the learning material. This is the style I use to teach young children to read, learn English as a second language, and master age-appropriate skills. I’ve successfully used this approach to teach hundreds of children, many under the age of 5, to read and write in a second language.
Learning Through the Environment
Children learn best by engaging with their surroundings. For example, I might ask a child to name objects around them, then we write out the correct words, working on spelling, grammar, and vocabulary in the process.
5. Attention Span Considerations
Children, especially those under 10, have shorter attention spans. Whether they’re learning new concepts or reviewing old ones, they can tire quickly. That’s why I keep most of my online tutoring sessions to 30 minutes rather than a full hour.
6. Focusing on Your Child’s Interests
I take your child’s interests into account to make learning more engaging. Before we begin, I’ll send you a questionnaire to help me understand their interests and strengths. I’ll use this information to tailor lessons that help them improve in areas where they struggle.
7. Motivating Students Through Rewards
I like to turn lessons into exciting games with rewards to keep children motivated. For example, your child can earn stars, fun stickers, or character rewards for performing well. This helps maintain their attention and makes learning enjoyable.
8. Breaking Down Material into Small Chunks
My curriculum integrates phonics, reading skills, math skills, grammar, and reading comprehension into every lesson. Each student receives a FREE ASSESSMENT to determine their starting point. The curriculum is broken down into units that teach small, age-appropriate chunks of material, including:
Eureka Math
Common Core Skills
Addition and Subtraction
Blending
Phonics
Syllable Identification
Literacy Skills
Word Problems
Sentence Structure
Grammar Rules
Reading Comprehension
